Lookee Heer! 😁

Big kudos to Mark at K-Maps for such a great turn around! I posted it Monday at 4.45 and it arrived back today at 1pm remapped and ready to go.
15 mins later it was back in the car and 5 gas pedal presses later was humming away.
The difference is noticeable straight away. Trundling down my dirt road to get to tarmac the car just felt more alive and ready to go.
Prior to the remap it pulled hard from about 4k to the redline. Now it pulls from just over 3k and much harder when it hits 4k..almost like an old fashioned camshaft tune where it comes on cam.
The mid range punch is much better and that is where I live most of the time and it pulls much freer in 3rd and 4th.
It feels less tubby in the engine noise and just pulls cleaner from go.
It's not a race car but I loved it before and even more so now.
Unfortunately the K-Maps labels fell off during fitting......😉
Edit: K-Maps are at Gaydon next week if anyone is going.

You will also probably soon notice how much nicer it is driving in town.  The improved torque at low revs should allow you to comfortbly pootle around average town traffic in 4 and 5th at 25 mph without feeling any great need to change down.

Yes I do notice that.
Had to take it for another spin this time through the town and it was much easier to just drive.
Of course I had to pass two garages to go to the V Power garage 10 miles away..😉
I am loving it. The power increase is right where it counts and it climbs to the red line much easier.
Next is the suspension and that is using up a lot of thinking power.

Yeah juat had mine done on Tuesday at Retro Sports Cars, a Kmaps partner. Well worth the money and I thought exactly the same, feels like it's had a higher lift camshaft fitted.

Exhaust note is crisper and a bit more overrun even without requesting "burbles".

Apparently immobiliser delete is standard on these maps.

Really quite aggressive sounding now, love it. Glad you like yours TA!

Haven't noticed an MPG increase as yet because I've been enjoying the second gear overrun at 6000rpm too much ;^)

Oh, also fitted a poly engine steady bush, the big one of thr two rubber ones in the bracket arrangement on the bottom of the engine.

A bit more vibration and harshness in the cabin as a result, but I dont mind that rawness and it absolutely cures the occasional kangaroo hop and also for some reason, makes the gearshift more reliable and consistent, so that's a recommendation from me if you don't mind it a bit rough, so to speak.

Also, seems to put the power down a bit better!

Cheers

I think it'd have to be bilstein VHS for me WRT suspension, maybe one day... haven't seen much about the spax kits and other than oe soft ride there doesn't seem to be many options out there.

Apparently Protech did some once upon a time but not for long, wonder why they stopped or if its special order. I might give them a call...

Glad you like it too Joe!
It just responds that bit better wherever you are in the rev range but hitting 4k and you definitely feel it pulls harder.
I don't think I am going to go the poly bush route when my bushes go as the damn thing is hard enough as it is. I am glad steadying the engine in yours helped with the gear selection. Makes sense that the cables can put all their movement in to selecting gears.
Enjoy your car Joe..and you really will when you get the brakes to your liking.
Good luck!

I am leaning towards VHS too simply because you can't find a lot of reviews of anything else.
They are a lot of money though! At least they were designed for std springs. I would go for the 10mm drop which would soften the springs a little.
Need to get saving!

My first run at the poly engine steady, lasted just long enough to get back home from my test run.
Dreadful!
The original went back on & it remained like that, until the sight of it in stores, as pretty as it was, so infuriated me that I drilled it, removing just enough of the bush to make it more compliant, yet not enough to ruin the advantage of the polymer.
I achieved the results I wanted by some good judgment & a lot of luck.

With a tip of the hat to TA22GT for the inspiration, I present the zero brake line modification bias valve removal, for £6.67!

Takes a fair bit of effort to get the steel pipes to seal up, obviously theyre flexing around the inverted flare in the adapter and theyre steel, but it's holding pressure under load in the unit. Ready for a road test...

Apparently it's an SAE Female single flare fitting in the factory lines at the bias valve, I think. Maybe :^)

Took apart the factory bias valve for a look inside. It's a spring!

Presumably some sort of brake damper, or mechanical variable pressure device - probably why the stock brake system feels spongy even with braided lines. I did wonder why.

Instant solid brake pedal after removal and replacement :^)

It's quite a complicated valve in there. Toyota use a spring but in a simpler way.
I am sure you will love removing it. The car sits underneath you when you brake.
Broken record I know but if you stay with 15 inch wheels just get yellowstuff pads and then forget about poor brakes.
I just had a real blast in mine, to make sure the remap hadn't escaped, and the brakes just hauled the car down with no drama.
Not sure if I have mentioned it before...but I love my car.
