The 310's work really well on these cars.
I have slightly bigger 195-50-15 on the front and have increased the tyre pressure to 28 and can't fault turn in.
I think you made a good choice.

Not done anything this week so far, car has been tucked up in the garage over the last 10 days while I was away with the fam on holiday.

Did give me a good smile when I opened the garage and seen the ol' girls backside looking perky.

have a wee run planned for midweek as its looking to be a rare dry day up in this neck of the woods

Refurbished the underfloor tray and x brace then fitted the calipers.
Ordered adjustable shocks to replace the original equipment.

Well they are good shocks so probably money well spent and I venture they are a step up on the oem shocks.

Ordered a pair of matching Durite Oil pressure and temperature gauges.
I plan on leaving the oem pressure switch in place as a backup.
I had previously ordered a male x 2 female tee in 1/8th NPT for when I was ready to do the job but after a quick grovel under the car I realised the oil filter carrier is a lot bigger thread.
Research leads me to believe it is 12mm x 1.5 thread so I have also ordered a bush to NPT.
Can anyone please confirm?
Thanks.

I do like those yellow callipers. Getting the finish just right took me a couple of goes but worth it without a doubt.
The four pots behind my fancy black wheels looked brilliant until I sacked off both callipers & wheels.
The Mini callipers I’m now using look great behind the VVC wheels.

Haven't been around much as started a new job and a bunch of other disruptive stuff going on besides, so hope everyone's well :-)

I haven't bought anything shiny or done anything controvertial as a result, but what I did do (a few weeks ago) was make a string box kit and finally tracked the car up properly, or within a mm of tolerance on factory settings - I should have done this alot sooner. I was told to sort tracking here wasn't I! Yes you were right, I should have done.

A mate showed me how, and I can't believe how easy it is! Took about 3 hours to make the box kit out of 2 long pieces of steel box, some weighted yellow strings and 4 matching axle stands. Took another 2 hours to get the car tracked close enough for a drive.

I found that one of the rears was set about right but the other was 8mm toed in!.

The fronts, Off side was 1mm toed out and the near side was 4mm toed in. so it was all over the place tracking wise. It still drove comparitively well against a the normal common (rail) or garden diesel daily though...

But wow, it's made the world of difference, the car feels like it's properly on rails now and floats through corners. Even managed to start learning some rear wheel steering on throttle in the damp days we've had on hairpins and roundabouts :-)

I've never been for tracking and had a car feel anywhere near "correct", and frequently ended up with steering wheel off - centre afterwards and been £40 - £80 worse off.  I won't be doing that again!

Cheers :-)

Well done Joe! Good to see you again.
I've used the string method before and also with canes to find the new roll centre when a car is lowered.
It is very accurate if you take your time.
Yeah when they are right they drive like they are on rails. 😉

I’ve been equipped with the kit to track mine up when all the jobs are done. I’ll be using a laser diode four right angle isosceles prisms & four very cheap tripods, which are stable enough. There’s no reason for it not to work as a DIY system, I’ll let you know when I’ve done.
The most expensive parts were the prism, which have to be accurate & optically sound.
