And as promised, the more later post...
Ok, those of you know me will realise that for many years I worked in technology education, and pretty much everyone will have heard of the recent push for STEM subject education (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
Where am I going with this?
Well, the forums are an excellent source of engineering and technology info, there is even bit of science from time to time....
But dear friends, I noticed we are light on maths. Hence today's quick math quiz.
Consider:
If I have 13 assorted sump bolt washers in my spares drawers, and need only one to be the right size, but have already been once to the automotive store,
1) express as a probability the odds that none of the buggers fit
2) express as a percentage how pissed of I was to discover this
3) express as a distance how far I had to walk on my second trip to the automotive parts counter
And for extra credit,
4) express as a fraction how much more superstitious I am now than I was due to their being 13 in the drawer
Other than that, it's not been a bad day, oil and coolant done, clutch ready to go in and belts sat on passenger seat waiting to go on probably tomorrow.
