Does that mean that you have a test certificate & the cat 🐈 is on the mend?

The vet advised that the cats nuts were a bit loose and gave them a good tweaking 😳
Yes I do have a test certificate and I'm feeling very chuffed that I had no advisories :woo2:
I drove home with the top down and very cold ears 👂
Thanks to everyone on this forum for helping us with this project, We couldn't have done it without you. :hugs:

CONGRATULATIONS!
A magnificent achievement, especially the "no advisories" bit of the MOT.
You will now feel that you really OWN that car with well-justified pride. I felt the same about a kit-car I built from scratch. Whenever someone compliments you on the appearance of your "Old" car, you and perhaps should tell them how you re-built/resurrected it!

Creating anything demands dedication, concentration, skill & the necessary equipment to finish the job. Around these things hangs a haze of support “can you please, hold this, pass the 9/16, 17mm, pliers, make me a brew, help me bleed the brakes again” & in my case help me up.
We had friends around for a meal last evening, prep started 12 hours before the food was placed before us. And it was very good.
For the most part it’s only those in the know who appreciate the work & financial commitment involved. When a really good example drives past heads will turn, so we’ll done & we’ll done to all who start from a low datum & end with a stunning job finished.

Well after almost 2 years of trouble free motoring R40 has reminded me never to turn my back 🙃
Last weekend she overheated and, at the time I suspected a dodgy hose..err no, it's now blowing steam out of the exhaust.
Time to get the garage cleaned up so that I can get it up on stands before the river tries to take another go at her.

Oh that's a shame!
The only half good thing is that it's a good time of year to lay her up and get the HG done.
You have done wonders with that car so let's hope she gives up the HG easily.

Can I recommend the members, recently joined, to start on page one & work through the entire process.
I intend to reread it this evening, it’s such a good “story” & an inspiration to those who might be finding the job their on with a struggle.
From time to time the ‘bar throws up an interesting series of articles, some which have little or nothing to do with our cars but fascinating nonetheless.
Cobber is usually in the thick of it; there’s an awful lot more to that man than throwing & catching boomerangs, waltzing with Matilda
& tying some bloody kangaroo down.
Fosters is not involved.

Judging by the amount of steam coming from the exhaust and all the mayo on the dipstick would it be a good idea to drain the coolant and oil then do a oil change and run the engine for a minute or so before I start on the head?
I'm just thinking about the amount of slime in there.

Personally I would do it the other way around.
Drain both oil and water best you can and then replace the gskt.
Fill it with water only and a sacrificial cheap oil.
That way you can run it for a few miles to see it is ok and water and oil tight then drain all again and add fresh oil and antifreeze.
Good luck.
