Single Din, Android Auto / Apple Carplay and running android nativly. 
Interestingly it also came with a reversing camera which i've not installed and a steering wheel control attachment which again.. I dont want. there is an external mic thats included that can be fitted to the rear of the head unit and located elsewhere which I will likely use. 

 

Sounds better than the Kenwood one too.. result. 

So a slight change over the weekend to the head unit. The second one came in and I decided that I'd swap them over and see which one I prefer.

Now the second one - again less than £60, is a little different.

It has a lower resolution and smaller screen, so it doesn't look as sharp, but it does have physical volume adjustment rather than using the touch screen (big plus) and wireless Android auto and carplay (again a plus)

It also sits really flush in the TF instrument console.

   

So a lower quality screen overall and a slightly cheaper feel to it... but a bit more usable in terms of functionality especially with that volume knob.. ill give it a week or so to see which one I prefer..

It does fit well in to the dash rather than an add on.

Like that much better the way it sits in the surround. Is the audio quality the same - ie. better than the standard head unit?

Both are better than the old kenwood unit that was there but I'd say thats more to do with the age of the old HU rather than the quality of those new ones and the fact that there was a tap into the 12v power for some other mods which i've shifted.

With the Chinese units, the larger one does seem to have fractionally better audio than the flush one. Neither are bad though and sound good roof up or down

do you have a link to that specific one, cause that fits very nicely IN the dash! 

 

It's going well, I get in and my phone automatically hooks up to it while staying in pocket so its doing everything I could ask for.

Still pleased with aound quality.

The wireless Android auto is a tad delayed but im speaking less than half a second when using waze or Google maps so completely acceptable.

Screw covers fitted, gaitors for gear stick and handbrake changed back to black, new wipers fitted. Still waiting for my heater controls to arrive, and also ordered an ashtray cubby from Alec and some straps to allow the hood to go down without jamming.

Sadly also got a quote of £2k to get the bumpers resprayed ...  

it is showing as at depot Dan so hopefully in the next couple of days
