Last week I treated R40 to some fresh fluids and filters, then some not so subtle updates. 🙂
1st I had to replace the broken silencer heat shield, so that got upgraded to a stainless one and while I was there I fitted a used stainless exhaust that was a absolute pig to fit and it's still a bit wonky. 😳
Finally, I the front bakes got upgraded to 4 pots along with 16 inch wheels.

I concur, the ability to stop is indeed most useful. I recently replaced my rear discs & pads after feeling like the cars stopping potential was somewhat limited, turned out the pads were very much at the "unusable sliver of yorkshiremans soap" level, the car is very different now for having them swapped

Took the fan motor assembly out. The top screw is out of sight and is the longest; starting to doubt that I was unscrewing anything.
Found the very small dry leaf that was making a lot of noise.
There is nothing written that having a large stomach make this job more difficult.

Then took off the 2 front wheel arch liners and dug out a mug full of seed compost. Will rust remove (no bubbling yet) and stonechip before putting the liners back.
And thinking about Upol around the joints where it touches the cill/back of the wing.

Servo Brace and Snorkel swap
All done and what a ball ache job that was but got to admit the pedal feels better and the bonnet area looks surprisingly larger, hardest part was getting the old air box thing out and fitting  the brace on the servo having fitted it to the bulkhead first, then my Mrs who is not mechanically minded said "why not fit it on there first" of course i told her that wont help then waited for her to go indoors and i removed from bulkhead fitted to servo from then it was a breeze, i might tell her later

Before

After

All in all though was good to do

Thats a good job to have done. I found the snorkel really improved the airflow through the heater/ ventilation as a side benefit
