Apart from the dice & there is no apologetic tone in that comment, I think you have taken a nice car & stamped your seal on it. It could have looked a bit wild but you have allowed it to blossom naturally. There won’t be many of those
Daffodils about & it would be nice to think we could pass on the road, I’d be able to take a punt on it being you, I’d just be another Tahiti blue f, with the driver waving madly at you.

Fitted reverse bleepers.  A no drill option so easily reversible. Being of age and without a telescopic neck, I’m sure it will make life easier although I can hear the comments from here 😀

That’s a canny arrangement, very discreet. My garage is a reverse in up a gradient & through ninety degrees. My neck, as with those who carry there years with care, but only sometimes, find the old left arm over the passenger seat & a neck straining to survey what I didn’t put away, have a set fitted.
The catalyst was my reversing into a low stump & irreparably buggering the rear bumper. Not wishing for a reoccurrence the replacement bumper now has four discrete warts along its length.
An experiment on the go at the moment should see reversing cameras fitted in the rear light clusters switched to monitors; when reverse is engaged or switched in, if I wish to see what I can’t see with my normal rear view. And that’s being experimented with.

A common feature of Fs and TFs I see in the wild, is minor damage to rear bumpers and quarters, scrapes and dings seem to be standard fare.
I'm sure the reason for this is poor rearward visibility when the roof is up.
Even when the plastic rear window is new the view through it is blurry let alone when weathered, wet or fogged up, basically you have to stick it reverse and hope!.......... A heated glass rear screen doesn't have these problems but instead it's limitations are it's size, a bit like peering though a keyhole from a distance. It is restrictive in it's field of view, and this makes it only too easy to clout things hiding in the periphery.
So anything that helps you negotiate obstacles in reverse can only be a good thing!

"Keep calm, relax, focus on the problem & PULL THE BLOODY TRIGGER"

As usual the nail hit squarely. I had recently replaced the plastic screen for the reduced size glass offering, prior to my colliding with the stump.
As the size reduces so does the visibility, hence one set of circumstances begets the next.
QED it is proved.
I would consider reversing sensors a “Thinking man modification” especially as one grows less supple.

Almost one year ago, when I bought the car and sent it to get its first uphauling, I had a set of front and back hidden detectors (a kind of aluminium stripe stuck to the inside of the bumpers) fitted. By then the car had a very blurry plastic rear window and a damaged rear bumper (no wonder)

It worked a treat at the beginning. But soon I disconnected the front detector, it was quite messy, and then the system started malfunctioning and soon expired.
Now, with a glass rear window and a repaired and sprayed rear bumper, I am about to fit a traditional Valeo system with the four warts I wanted to avoid in the first place. Rear visibility is so bad that if you really use the car often damaging its rear part it's only a matter of time.

A great mod. Of course a rearview camera would be perfect. But I don't wish to destroy the dashboard appearance with any kind of screen. And the windshield is too narrow to fit a bigger rearview mirror that acts as a screen as the one I have in the 90

I wouldn’t advise adopting an idea I’m working on as there’s a lot to make & the advantages for the vast majority of users is minimal.
I’m adopting cameras to replace my door mirrors. If I wasn’t trying to engineer too many facilities into too smaller space it would have been installed by now; last evening I decided to start again on the wiring & use one multi connector on an umbilical as opposed to several.
In industry this is referred to as Research and Development, once retired it’s called Buggering About.

I chose the bleepers to avoid drilling the bumper and simplify fitting. just a small speaker behind a seat, no struggling for camera location in cabin or feed for power.

I’m not very good at the KISS option (keep it simple, stupid). The simple does not compute; the stupid hat fits perfectly.

I fitted a set on my daughter's Fiat last year and bought a spare set for the TF I'll get round to fitting when the weather improves. Hoping there will be enough clearance to drill and fit the warts without having to remove the bumper.
