Fitted a pair of Alpine tweeters to my TF.
Thanks to @notanumber for pointing out the wiring would be there.
Used a step cutter on the door card for a neat fit and they work a treat.

Low coolant alarm from Mr.Cotsell arrived today so that's the next job.

One of the plastic heater control knobs failed in the week so I picked up a second hand set of Mike Satur aluminium ones on Ebay. They are very solid but I have to say I prefer the less cluttered look of the originals

Can I ask why they fail?  My heater knob turns to the hot position and everything is hot but if I try to turn it down it jams half way. If I leave it to cool it goes all the way back to off again. Is this why they break because I daren't actually force it back to off.

I know what you mean about a tight spot in the middle of the temperature control. Mine has it to a much lesser extent and i noticed it on my previous TF.  If yours is particularly bad there then it would probably be worth an hour or two to strip down, clean and lubricate the heater flaps and linkages the control joins to.

On mine, it was the knob for the fan which had broken and prompted the change. Unlike the others this just consists of a switch, without mechanical linkages, though it does still require quite a positive turn to click between speed positions.

The knob for the direction control fell apart when I removed it so the only intact original survivor was the one for the temperature control.

Incidentally, you can adjust the range of the temperature knob by moving where the cable is attached by the clip to tbe valve.( Beware tbe clip can fly off and disappear.@Ask me how I know...)

Went out for a drive to pick up a hardtop for our car today and noticed that the heater wasn't working 🥶 I  was fearing the worst but David's advice was spot on, a small adjustment of the cable and bingo, the heater now works again.
The hardtop is fitted and the car is almost ready for the winter.

That looks smart.
I'm envious of the HR screen!

I've fixed the heated rear screen on the TF hardtop at last as the original connection pads had been missing when i got the car.

Several times I attempted to stick some brass pads with lucar terminals to the HRW'S conductive foil with a special conductive glue but each time they came off despite following the instructions and applying heat whilst drying.
In the end i came to the conclusion the conductive glue may well be nicely conductive but it wasnt actually a strong enough glue to keep the small metal pad and its length of wire stuck properly to the screen.
I then used JB Weld to glue the pads to the foil sections on the screen, trimming off the excess glue. Once hardenned i then went back in with the conductive glue but used it to cover the pad and area of foil immediately around it. I repeated this twice more to make sure of good conductivity. This has done the trick and the conductive glue around the edges and over the top of the pads has worked better than worrying about having an actual conductive bond between it and the foil.
The next challenge is to persuade a family member in this weather to give me a hand to lift the hardtop back onto the TF.

I had a really productive week to be honest! I finally got round to fitting the trophy spoiler I picked up after sanding, and repainting it (bonus points if you know the shade of black I used 🤣)  and I think it looks pretty great to be fair;

I also did some more work on increasing the amount of yellow in the interior, not to everyone's taste I'm sure but don't worry I have a box full of unpainted parts if I ever wanted to go back to standard.

You'll also note I've been deleting the chrome as I go, the door handles inside and out are wrapped, the gear knob and surround are now black, the chrome lighter has been replaced with a simple USB charger and the chrome ashtray has been swapped for a black one.

That chrome delete continues on the outside with the rear deck trim, fuel cap and door handles all now wrapped in black, and of course the Ultralight wheels I fitted the other week:

It's not all been cosmetic though, I also fitted Bruce's low coolant alarm kit and did some lubricating of the throttle pedal, though I'm now convinced it needs to come out and have the bushes & pivot dealt with but that's a job for another day.

You forgot to mention those furry dice..........

It's obvious you are liking the car and making it your own and also having fun!
These cars get under your skin somehow and become very personal to each of us. Carry on!

Haha, oh yeah, totally forgot those, someone made a joke in passing that it needed some and so I decided to get some, they're part of the slightly daft vibe the car is going for, a sort of homage to the Japan mod scene that it's rival the MX5 got to take part in so much.

They definitely do get under your skin, they also occasionally remove chunks of it too
