Yesterday to do the offside was most of the day, it I spent a fair bit of time getting my welding set to play ball.
today I spent about 4 hours doing the near side.
i will be glad when it’s done.

Bought some NGK Iridium plugs last year with the intent to fit them next time I was in the cave. Anyway never needed to go in there so today I bit the bullet and did the job.
I don"t know what breed of gorilla put the last ones in but I really sweated getting them out. I was really getting scared of breaking them in the head.
Finally replaced them, cover went on easily, dead dog back in and then one of those evil clips bit me. They truly are evil!
Thank heavens they will outlast me.

The TF came back from the body shop, so I started detailing it before the for sale sign goes up.
I took out the boot carpet and gave it a proper clean, cleaned all of the rubber trim, the inside of the boot lid, and parts of the engine bay.
Then I fitted these..
Sorry Cobber, I know that it's wrong, but I will give the next owner the option to have the originals put on.
Just need to order fresh number plates and I'm almost done.

I took the fuel pump out today so I could drain the fuel, as I will be doing some welding on the back of the floor.
what a pig of a job, I bought one of those cheap tools from AliExpress which did it, but I could only turn it about 20% at a time as it was hitting the bulkhead.
i am not looking forward to putting it back on.

Getting the pump located in the tanks indexing recess is the hurdle to get over. It shouldn’t be as hard with an empty tank but with fuel in there, the buoyancy of the pump fights against an easy replacing.
Also ensure the float is free to cover its entire stroke; get it wrong & your fuel gauge will be even less trustworthy, heralding a revisit & in a less than sanguine outlook.

finally found some time to drive today, the weather is okay so roof open and have fun, last week i installed one of those android 1 din carplay radio's and i have to say for the investment the return is great, sound quality is better or at least the same as my Pioneer radio but having carplay is so nice, readibility in the sun is difficult but hey thats the downside of having no roof i guess.
also, my first longer drive with the K-map and how awesome is it that this car now seems to have an on / off switch. they torque curve just seems to never end! love it!

I made a blanking plate to go in place of the fuel pump while I finish up the work in the engine bay.
and I got both sill repair panels pretty much trimmed and ready to go.

Enjoy..it looks impressive!
Can't say I have ever been there but I used to be a member of Kirkby Lonsdale MC many years ago when I lived in my own county of Yorkshire.
They put on the Joe Goodwin January rally which I won in 1979, my only claim to fame.
In my mad younger days we used to jump off the bridge there!
Make sure your car looks pristine!

So after struggling to get the fuel pump ring off, I designed and printed a tool that should make life a lot easier when it comes to go back in. I made it in two parts as I thought the 1/2" drive would be the weakest point, so it would be easily replaceable and save a complete remake.
Annoyingly, i left the fuel pump at work, so I can't try it, with the actual pump, but i did a dry fit in the office, and it fitted fine.

Very impresive, my guess is that it would have taken you a fraction of the time it took in making my interpretation.
I would put a picture of mine up; if only I knew where I'd put it. Its an age thing!
