Wocha bin doin on your MG this week then? 5 years 2 months ago #189381

Just brought some alcantra seats for my tf.
They're filthy but I've spent a few days cleaning them they're starting to look good.
As soon as eBay drops off the leather cleaner they'll look great

Rub them with baking powder, let it work for 30mins and hoover then.
Works wonders!

Finally managed to get my TF back on all four wheels after the suspension rebuild.

Hope to get it booked in (as long as the weather stays dry!!) for a 4 wheel laser alignment next week.

A quick blast around the estate confirmed that the coolant bleeding procedure listed in the 'How to guides' is spot on.

Just need to sort out the blowing exhaust flange now and I can then move on to the next phase of the rebuild.

More next week.

Hi vdv,

How well do they work?

Are they easy to fit?

Thinking of fitting these to mine to replace the naff single bonnet rod.

yep, super easy to fit, just undo some bolts and then bolt them in. They work well, very stable all the way up.

Ebay kit, look a bit pricey to me.

i paid a little less than that, and my struts are chrome. but not that expensive when you think a pair of decent struts are £20+ and then two brackets are made, welded, and powdercoated. value is in the eye of the purchaser though or some rubbish lol.

i would link where i got them, but they dont make them any more apparently.

Just got the SCU back in the car after replacing the faulty Pektron relays. I've seen these for sale on Ebay for £5 per relay but I bought 5 relays from RS Components for £13.50 delivered! The RS Components part number for the relays is 915-6613

Crappy old faulty Pektron Relays

Old relays removed

Replacement relays all fitted

I tried to install pscan on my new laptop, and, like most things to do with my MGs, I failed.

Getting more than a little fed up now.

Brake calipers all stripped and cleaned, a fresh coating of anti-seize on the pads and slide shims and handbrake set up.
I usually do this every year in May just before the MOT, but with the car having less use over the winter now, I noticed the handbrake was beginning to stick. Wheels thoroughly washed too while they were off the car and deep cleaned with purple rain.
Its good to do the AP front calipers at least once a year, as the retaining pins do seize up and can be a mare to remove, an annual clean up keeps them nice and free.
