This release includes the following:-

New interface firmware to support a new feature that we are currently testing.

Update to Pektron fob programming that fob bar codes beginning with a P can be entered.

Ability to add and remove Freelander keys in the Sawdoc ECU.
Note that keys must be already programmed to the vehicle (so bought from a Land Rover dealer against the VIN number). This update then allows such a key to be added, and a lost one to be removed so that it can't be used to steal the vehicle.
It can't program a key that is not associated with the vehicle.

Does this mean interface firmware will need to be upgraded? If it does is it necessery for the interface to be connected to car and in the same time to be connected to internet via laptop as this might be a huge problem for some of us?
Any instructions how to update interface firmware would be great.

You should connect your laptop to the internet, but not necessarily to the car.
Run the software that you already have.
This should upgrade it to version 042B.

Next go to the car.

If you have no internet connection in the car then that isn't a problem.
Connect pscan to the car, and run version 042B.
The software will upgrade the firmware in your interface, whether there is an internet connection or not.
It only takes a few seconds.

The only scenario where you would need the interface powered up, and an internet connection at the same time would be if the firmware was corrupted (for example if you unplug the power in the middle of a firmware upgrade).
I would prefer that you don't do that, however if you do then the software can recover from that situation but it will need an Internet connection to do so.

Provided you don't do anything weird it will just work.

I updated my pscan today and during the firmware update the computer froze I waited 20 minutes and all I could do was to shut down the computer and its now saying it's an unregistered commuter please help.

Thank you for the log output. It will be useful to figure out what happened.

If you can connect your pscan to a car and run the software with your laptop on the Internet and run the software it should clear your interface back to factory default.

You will have to register again as it will now be like a new interface but after that it should be fine.

You were right, I connected it to the car tethered to my phone internet and it asked me if I wanted to register I clicked yes and it worked.

my pscan has recently updated but it now wont go past the opening port page, do you think this is likely to be a pc issue or something to do with the upgrade

Do you see a window with "pscan.uk 042B" in the title bar?

Is the problem that it says "Select port here" but there is nothing to select?

or is it something else?

All sorted now Ta I restored the pc back to earlier and then carried out the upgrade again, the pc has other issues occasionally so may be time for a change

My guess is that the FTDI driver did not survive Windows update.
It can simply be re-installed by following step 1 in these instructions http://pscan.uk/install/windows.html

Thank you I think you are correct, when I ran a diagnostic it said there wasn't a driver so I restored back to an earlier point in time and it ran fine afterwards, thank you for your input
