The centre bore sits on the spigot ring.

No, sorry Clive. I'm talking about the original standard rear discs.
They have a centre hole of 66mm, while the actual CB is 56.6mm. So are they located by the studs only?

Ah. I'm not sure mate. I will try to remember to have a look tomorrow when I take the other one off, although I was sure it was a tight fit. Will let you know.

With the old disc removed you can see the difference between the new 280mm and the old standard 240mm.

This is what I remember when I was struggling to get the old discs off, and yet if you look at your picture of the two discs side by side (above) it's obvious that the old one has a bigger centre hole than the new one. That's what I can't get my head around.:dunno:

If I recall correctly the oem disks center on the studs and the 2 retaining screws. Since the new disks have slots for the studs there is a bigger chance of missalignment. This is solved with the spigot rings

I have fitted the nearside and had her out for a drive. Considering the discs are brand new and not bedded in yet, the braking is improved a lot. I will let the brakes bed in a bit and then will get the back brakes ested.

Sounding good.:yesnod: Did you get a chance to compare the discs, and how the old ones fitted?

How long are you going to give the brakes before you get them tested?

Don't really know. Might even get them tested tomorrow after a decent drive. I know it is unfair testing them if they haven't bedded in properly but I have new greenstuff pads to go in, so I don't want the discs molding themselves to the old pads.

As for your question about the fit of the disc on the hub, you can see the circle left on the hub from the old disc. So it doesn't fit snuggly.

Strangely enough, I put the centres of the old and new dic together and there wasn't much in it.

You can just see the new disc below the old.
