If it seals without the washer, all is good. :broon:

The correct name foe a Senior Moment is a CRAFT incident.

...
On the subject of oil changes don't you hate it when you find the copper washer that is supposed to be on the sump plug sitting next to your tool box after you have refilled the oil and are packing up .........

I'm only forty seven and I'm already having senior moments, what hope do I have.

Craig

Craig, you're 47 and started having senior moments

I'd say you're doing very well, mine started quite a few years earlier.

The careful use of the little boy and the dike principle solved the issue of the missed washer. All was fixed with only minor effort and occasional swearing. :P

my craft incidents have been happening for a little while now, late last year I forgot to pick up my son from school until one of the other parents rang me and asked where I was. Fortunately I was only 15 minutes late and Jamie ended up with a new Lego kit courtesy of my overwhelming feelings of guilt.....lol

Today as it's pouring down, I used my lovely car port to hide from the rain while I resolved a small but irritating issue with the MG.

Since its last tracking adjustment the steering wheel has been a few degrees off centre. Not a major problem, but you see it every time you sit in the car.
Removing the steering wheel and moving it one spine merely resulted in the steering wheel being a similar degree out in the other direction. :bang:

So I jacked up the front of the car and removed the front wheels. I loosened the steering track rod lock nuts and turned the offside rod 1 complete turn out and the nearside 1 turn in. Tightened up the lock nuts, put the wheels back on, torqued up the wheel nuts and went for a test drive. :woowoo:
Success!

I now have a straight steering wheel. Until the next lazy tracking adjuster type person.

I've clearly got too much time on my hands because I've been watching your little rant icon for the last few minutes

It's actually quite good as it goes through quite a large range of movements when you look closely.

Sad bugger that I am :coat:

Still busy day tomorrow fitting big brake discs. Wish me luck!

Camera is at the ready with fresh batteries loaded :yesnod:

I used the bolt method on the rear discs - worked an absolute treat :broon:

Hopefully, all will be ok. I've got it planned and all the tools ready and waiting. That's half the battle I always think.

I need to do the n/s lower ball joint as well and am still debating whether or not to do it at the same time as I'll have a lot of what's needed to be dismantled done. It may be a bridge too far though so will see how the offside goes.

I was a little bit busy on my MG this week, there was the thermostat to which a whole thread is dedicated, then the radiator sprang a leak so that was replaced and I've just been out to replace the fuse that took out my clock, radio and I'm hoping, the oil temp gauge which didn't appear to move on the drive to/from work today.
This evening is devoted to getting a low coolant alarm, hopefully one which doesn't require me to drill a hole in the expansion tank as this idea scares the bejesus out of me.
If anything else goes wrong on my car it's going on eBay.
