Forrester, that very job is on my list. Not sure whether to kill the surface rust and body colour or kill rust, Hammerite and fit mudflaps. The paint damage in this area makes a strong case for flaps.
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Just fitted leather seats. I got a couple of passenger side ones in quite good condition on eBay for £50 each + £20 delivery, so I had to swap one set of covers on to my existing driver's seat frame, swapped the foam too as it looked on better condition than what was there. I also changed the armrest to a leather one.

I used Gliptone cleaner, and then Gliptone conditioner on them before fitting, and would recommend it. It's given them a nice sheen without being too glossy and a nice leathery smell too.

I am now tempted by the leather T-bar covers on e Bay. Anyone fitted one ? Do they match the seat leather grain or the armrest grain (my armrest is smoother than the seats)

I also fitted chrome surrounds to the side repeaters (I like the look of chrome/stainless against Tahiti Blue)

I've no experience of the replacement armrest leather covers, but the replacement seat covers are a bit naff. Not a good fit and bleed colour onto your clothes.

Just dropped the F off at MJS for a MOT.First time she's been off the drive since July so I had to go the long way, 40 miles of mostly country lanes and half with the roof down reminds me why we have the car.

Check back on Wednesday evening.

I just dropped the car off so they can get it done during the week, I was actually on a bus when I sent the above on my way from Littlehampton to Worthing to meet Mrs TC from work so I could show her an easier way to get to and from work.

I've been busy fitting mk2 dashboard into my mk1.
Did the speed transducer on the gearbox, the wiring to the boot space switch.
After installing the clocks found that the ABS light worked the other way around.
Looked at the mk1 wiring and saw that the light works around the middle plug....
After a minor change on the pcb it works !!
Did the change for a more steady speedometer, the old one gave me a headache :bang:

Managed to remove Juliet's sheared alternator adjuster bolt. :woohoo:

Used a dremel grinding wheel to put a couple of flats on the bolt shaft and give the mole grips something to hold. Then squared it off and used a 4.5 mm socket and gentle back and forth twists to loosen and finally extract it.

Replaced the coolant, adjusted the handbrake to fix the annoying handbrake light being on all the time and did an oil change.

On the subject of oil changes don't you hate it when you find the copper washer that is supposed to be on the sump plug sitting next to your tool box after you have refilled the oil and are packing up .........

I'm only forty seven and I'm already having senior moments, what hope do I have.
