It's not too late for Uncletone, and others though... :)

David & Leigh,

Thank you both for posting about this issue. The extent of the internal corrosion is alarming and as I'm about to do my stainless steel pipes & coolant alarm, I've just ordered a hose via the link that Leigh posted to change as a precaution.

Are there any other hoses do you think that have a history of early failure/splitting?

Richard, that's the only hose I've had to change all the rest are original.

And here is said varmint.

It looks like a new one, and somebody has been tampering previously. Note cable tie.

I must order a replacement in anticipation. Thanks Leigh for the link, and to David for breaking my bank again.

Hi Leigh,

Thanks for that I've just ordered a roll or two. I've also contacted the Post Office and warned them that there Posty might be off work soon with an hernia carrying all my stuff up the lane.

You guys on here will be the death of me. I'm not reading anything on this forum anymore. :nonod:

New hose just arrived (ordered via the link Leigh made). Looks fine - the MG Rover sticker says 'Made in the Czech Republic' - are there no British made parts on these cars? So far I've found French bits (rear lights) & Belgian bits (front lights).

My new hose is sitting here waiting for me to fit it - I have some Mikalor hose clamps inbound. The question is whether to fit a clamp around the restrictor....might it break the glue seal? Better to leave well alone? Or a good insurance policy?

Opinions please.

Mine also was from the Czech Republic. I am still debating adding an extra clamp. :yesnod: :nonod: I thought about the point you raised. Maybe a sheath of old hose and a cable tie?
