We have gone from a plywood armoured car (yes I know all about plywood Mosquitos thank you) to a starship warp drive?
I think I'll go and see my shrink and come back tomorrow
I may be old but I’m not senile:-
It’s just that I can’t remember whether it’s Alzheimer’s or Amnesia
The magnets are a cheat!
" Neodymium magnet mounted under the car is attracted to the steel guide rails of the race track giving the car incremental downforce and grip. This allows the car to stay on the track at higher speeds and gives improved high speed stability and cornering ability. The race is far more exciting as the cars speed around corners and accelerate away down the straights. The cars slow for corners more sharply too, giving the race real energy. But be careful, when the magnet looses attraction to the steel guide rails the car becomes a real handful!
The Neodymium Iron Boron magnets have a gauss level which is typically 2-4 times higher than standard Alnico magnets. The magnets are nickel-plated for improved corrosion resistance and appearance."
I have a couple of these Scalextric Metros in oil company liveries complete with the apron spoiler but I have to say I found them difficult to keep on the track unlike the Minis.
Collecting diecast MG models is a bit of a passion of mine. Pretty much every model of MG ever made has been brought to us in miniature form, whether it be as a mass produced, low cost die-cast from the big names in diecast models, or as a more expensive, self-assembly replica from the likes of Crossway and SMTS.
To my knowledge, only two models of MG from Old Number 1 right up to the current SAIC MG range have never been offered in either format. To help with this question, these two models are from the post-war period.
Please name the two models that have not been modelled in either a limited run of replica kits or mass-manufactured varaiants.
Good guesses, but I should have said in any variant or Mk, and the Farina Magnette is available from SMTS, and the ZR was available from K&R but admittedly not in the Express version, although I guess being self-assembly it could have been.
There were two that were not made in any variant of itself, whatsoever. All others were modelled in at least one of the Mks/variants.
