Posted 13 years 7 months ago #91358The monies have come into the business and the vehicle will eventually be invoiced to the winner at £20 (entry fee). This MG TF LE500 was built (well documented) and was the first off the line in 2008. This car is BRAND NEW and will remain BRAND NEW until registered-those is the laws! The car has 38 miles on the clock and cambelt is not due for change until 4 years/60,000 miles from date of first registration.
This very special MG has been kept in our heated showroom (apart from it's trips to two shows) and was originally at Longbridge in the "Elephant House" alongside it's MG RV8 and MGF No.1 counterparts.
Originally I advertised a "raffle", but quickly deleted it and changed to a "skill based competition" because of a legal issue over raffles. All entries have complied with the competition rules and answered the skill based question.
Sorry that I don't come on here everyday, but I will always try to answer your questions when I can.
Lastly, Softly-Softly, you could always post me a cheque? Or even a £20 note. I've looked at PayPal, but there are issues when there is nothing being mailed out.
Hope that's covered everything?

Posted 13 years 7 months ago #91363The car did cost me less than the total ticket sale (IF they are all sold!), but with £1000 donated to Macmillan Cancer Support and the costs of promotion, I know I will only be making a very small margin on this car, but then it's not about that-it's about giving someone the chance to own a piece of future history.

He tells me that no one knows why Chris (moderator) deleted my thread. He volunteered to tidy the thread up. I'm still after an explanation. This whole episode has caused me untold hassle and taken up a lot of time.
Of course he knows John, .Cult binned anything to do with the affair because they feared bad publicity.
The moderator involved has been online plenty of times since but in common with the rest of the management over there finds it impossible to admit to making a mistake because they equate it with admitting weakness.
In short, you've been lied to.

Hey come on. That thread was stated as being deleted for 'multiple reasons'. Why must you assume that only one of them was a lie. That's not like you.
John's been very good giving us all a few explanations. Now, with just a little more patience we could see this car on 'point' at the T-Bar events next year. Ooh it's exciting.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Does this emoticon annoy anyone else? Whenever I see it I want to baseball bat it in the face.
In other news................. does anyone know for sure the real reason why Paypal cannot be used for this competition? I'd prefer to use Paypal tbh.
