Can pscan enable the factory low coolant light

So coding in the factory low coolant alarm sounds like something that would need the assistance of Technozen. Is that right?

At present, as far as I know, Testbook T4 can do it, or you can ask Technozen, as you say.

I was bothered why you have voltage on the connector where should be none. Then I remembered you could have earlier version of the Pektron box.

Please, check also what version of Pektron SCU/BCU you have. It is written on white label on the box. Is it version YWC001540 or YWC001541?

Low coolant alarm was introduced in later version of Pektron box YWC001541, so if you have earlier version you cannot enable it as it is not there.

If someone has one of these BCUs but not the low coolant alarm I'm up for coding it in with my T4. If it works then I will be able to reverse engineer how the T4 did it and add the feature to pscan.
I would need someone with a relevant car to visit me in Ruislip.

I have the earlier one unfortunately, so I am out of business. Can a later one be retro fitted?

It would be cheaper and easier to just fit a whole aftermarket kit.
Indeed from what I gather the less shit the pektron controls the better!

Hi
I have the earlier one that RoverLike pointed out can't be enabled. Can I change this for the later version and plug it in after the sensor is enabled?

Thanks
Mark

It is not that easy. Problem is your remote fobs are coded to your Pektron SCU box. You cannot code your existing fobs to another SCU. You would need to buy complete set, later SCU with new fobs coded to that box. What you can ask Technozen if he can copy complete setup from your existing SCU to later SCU with all information regarding your fobs. In that way you could keep your existing fobs. This cannot be done with T4 as far as I know, only Technozen can be asked if he can do it.

Also Pektron SCU need to be paired with your engine ECU. I hope that if all configuration is copied (if that can be done)  you do not need to pair it  again, but if you do, that can be done with Pscan tool.

It is possible to "move" fobs from one Pektron unit to another, but it has to be done on the bench, not with the Pektron in the car.
I have been working on being able to do this so that Technozen isn't the only person in the world able to do it.
