How do 10 years 4 months ago #136328

Thought i'd join up here (long time lurker) to join in on some of the action.

Normally I hang around the Vauxhall forums but joined up after picking our 2002 MGTF 160VVC in the summer.

Plans are to partially strip her and give it a full makeover. We've loads of experience with british (future) classics having bare metal restored a 1982 Triumph TR7 over the past 4 years. We then decided to get something a bit more modern but with that same sports car feel hence the TF

So here are some pics, of the MG, Triumph and lastly some of my latest new toy (i'm pretty obsessed with cars )

I too have a TR-7 keeping my MGF company!
That TR-7 is an absolute glamour! You look to have done a bloody good job on it :broon:
Are you by chance a member over at the Triumph TR7 forum ? If not, you might wanna join them as they're a good bunch over there as well. I'm Cobber over there too

Both cars looks lovely - the TR7 is a stunner, loved them since I first saw one in the New Avengers! (ooh showing my age now!)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. It's taken me a while to reply with christmas etc. but with all of that crap out of the way it's time to focus on the TF.

Having had a look preliminary look at it yesterday it seems that we're dealing with a car that's owner meant well but went to Kwik Fit too many times.

The upper front subframe has had a nice patch put into it but in cutting the old metal out they cut into the wheel arch liner too :bang: soo we've got two nice subframe boxes to replace them with.

There was a nice surprise in that someone had spent some cash on spax adjustables for it which is always a bonus. (the TR7 incidentally came to us with spax adjustables too and you need to be able to set up the suspension on a true sports car )

So after removing just one wheel we have a rather nice list of stuff already to be done....gonna be worth it in the end though
