Well embarrassingly i've been lurking on here again ever since we bought the car and i've never posted again

So it's been a busy year on the TF and in all honesty we've spend a whole heap more than the car was worth but.....it's ready to go for another MOT next week.

We were too far into the resto to start taking progress pics but we've completely overhauled the drive train of the car but not without other problems.

Firstly the front subframe was removed and we quickly realised that it was beyond saving so along with the upper boxes a good s/h front subframe was purchased so now we go onto the list :omg:

Front end

S/H front subframe and boxes sourced and powdercoated
New front and rear subframe mounting brackets
New lower wishbones fitted
New track rod ends fitted
New front air dam fitted
ARB, cross braces, front springs and various other brackets powder coated
New anti roll bar "D" bushes
New front AP racing calipers fitted due to corrosion on the mounting faces
Pagid front brake discs
New front spax adjustable dampers as we realised that the old ones weren't just the best
Front brake pipes replaced and goodridge flexible hoses fitted
Whole underbody undersealed

Rear end

Engine/gearbox/subframe removed
S/H rear subframe powdercoated
New r/h engine mount bracket and damper/torque link
New l/h gearbox mounting
Front subframe mounting brackets
ARB, brackets, springs, upper cross braces and suspension links all powder coated
Rear calipers freed off and new pads/discs fitted
New brake pipes with goodridge flexible pipes
Poly ARB "D" bushes
Upper rear ball joints
Replacement compliance bushes
2x new short adjustable trailing arms

Engine

Timing belt, tensioners, water pump & VVC belt
Thermostat
New timing covers (both ends)
New main engine wiring loom
Oil cooler pipes replaced
Water rail pipes replaced
Thermostat
Inlet manifold and exhaust manifold gaskets replaced
Air, oil and fuel filters
New plugs and leads
New manifold heatshield
New fuel pipe assy
New genuine Cat
New genuine backbox
Second lambda sensor fitted

Gearbox

New clutch
Driveshaft seals
Gear shift cables

Misc

New wiper linkages
S/H engine bay fan
Vent grilles replaced
New number plates
A pioneer bluetooth stereo
New wiper blades

And to round things off we've noticed that the wheels are pretty bashed up so.......we ordered a brand new set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels (original 16x7) with toyo T1R tyres fitted

One of the main problems we ran into was that the back end of the body was pretty rotten....so much so that we had to weld in a whole new boot panel and more or less the whole seam of the engine bay bulkhead.

The reason we decided to patch up the shell is that we plan to re-shell the car at the end of the year with this

So this is what we have now,ok so it's not much to look at from the top but underneath it's more or less a new car....who cares if it was only an £800 car.......things are personal now

Also in between times i've been having a play with my other love, my insignia
