Pektron barcode - where do I find that please

Can someone help me with this please? I know I can code in more than two fobs associated with the Lucas system using Pscan.
Based on a search to do a similar thing for a car (MGTF 135) deploying the system associated with the Pektron fob Pscan can do a similar thing for 3 fobs but I need a barcode apparently. Where do I find that please?
I did read what I could see on Technozen’s website and I got the distinct impression that it was not possible and if attempting it I risk wrecking the entire system.
Can anyone clarify any of this please?

The OEM replacement fobs come in a blister pack and there is a barcode on a label on the outside.
At least, that was how mine came.

One important thing must be said here:
1) Lucas 5AS alarm system - second hand, used fobs can be programmed to Lucas 5AS system
2) Pektron alarm system - second hand, used fobs CANNOT be programmed to Pektron system

Thank you for clarifying that and the need for a new unused fob. That is indeed most useful to know.
In searching through paperwork that came with the car (2004 TF35) I see a folded piece of card headed MG Rover and three words on the LHS of the card (one below the other) saying “key code card” That card has a bit of paper stuck on it with an 8 digit code and underneath that what appears to be a name immediately followed by the word date and 2322004.
It is presumed that the date means 23 feb 2004.. The build date for the car is later in the year in October.
Is that 8 digit code vital when coding in a new/replacement fob? Or is that number nothing to to do with it?

Thank you for continuing to engage with this issue. Can you add anything more to this please?
When I keyed in the second Lucas fob to my other previous car I’m certain that it needed both old and new to be coded again at the same time, and definitely when I did it a second time to make 3 functioning fobs.
So if I don’t know the code to the two existing Pektron fobs (unless the code is the 8 digit code I referred to in #1) how do I code in a third fob that has yet to be acquired but will undoubtedly have a different code to the two existing functioning fobs that I believe came with the car from the factory?
Can anyone help me with that please?

I have just watched a YouTube video where the narrator codes in a spare Pektron fob.
From that I think I see that you first confirm that the existing fobs can test the system to check that they work, then using a 22 digit code for any additional fob code that in.
So whilst I will need to watch that again to be confident I think I get the idea.
That leads me to two other questions. First, can pscan reveal the EKA code for a Pektron system as I don’t have that. I presume it can in a similar manner to that used for the Lucas system.
And secondly what on earth is the 8 digit code I have used for?

I see that you either sold your 2002 TF and bought new one 2004 or you have both in possesion.
Yes, PScan can retrieve EKA code from Pektron system as well as from Lucas system.
Since I do not see what you have I cannot comment on 8 digit code. However, I am curious and I will ask if you have locking nuts on your wheels with flower shape indent where key goes in.

Good gracious, what kind of divination are you involved with if you can glean such information from the floral display on a locking wheel nut.
I think we should all be careful what details we let slip, if our friend can conjure information out of the merest snippet !

They say that there is no such thing as a stupid question.
If you don’t know ask!
So I asked.
Security is high on my agenda but computer software is not my strong point. It was and my understanding that with any new MG the new owner should receive a code of some form that is on an adhesive strip of paper that can be stored somewhere different than say the hand book.
I believe that code is the EKA code.
I have never found that piece of paper on either my first TF or this latest. I have however found a card associated with the latest TFwith the 8 digit code followed by a name and what looks very much like a date.
I have not investigated the wheels or the security nuts associated with the latest TF ( I discarded those items on my first car replacing them with an alternative system and will probably do the same with the latest vehicle).
I presume from the responses that this 8 digit code is related to the wheel nut security system and as such is probably pointless as there are no longer any MG Rover distributors from that era.
The Pektron system seems unnecessarily complicated and prone to failure. And in that regard likely to be a “bit of a problem” in the future.
Which clever well meaning person developed a system where the loss of the original keys renders the whole system virtually useless?
High on my agenda therefore will be a reserve key fob that is coded in.
If it is possible I’d like to think about getting a spare ECU that would be a direct swap that accepts the existing fobs without further intervention, i.e. one in one out on the spot and continue on my way. Reading Technozen website I think that might be possible at a cost. Is it possible and has anyone done this?
Bearing the above in mind has anyone had K-Maps or similar remap their engine ECU in conjunction with the Pektron system. Doors it create similar problems? I know it can be done but what are the complications if any?

If you confirm my question regarding locking wheel nuts then you are able to obtain spare or replacement locking key today without much problem and it is not pointless. Of course, at this moment I am just guessing that 8 digit code is tied with wheels locking nuts.
It is possible to create spare engine ECU for swapping, or use K-maps and delete engine immobilisation at Pektron alarm equipped cars.

New Pektron fobs come with a 22 digit barcode.
The fob is useless without the barcode.
The fob is useless if it's been used more that a few times because being used actually causes the code to change (rolling code technology).
There is a bar code checker on this webpage https://pscan.uk/features/pektron.html
Pektron fobs are not easy to deal with but that's how MG Rover made it, as part of getting Thatcham Category 1 security accreditation, which put the cars into a lower insurance group.
If you have an old Pektron fob that used to work on the car then it probably still does. I might be worth putting a new battery and re-syncing.
Otherwise it's probably worthless.
