Software version 043B

This release fixes a couple of bugs.

EDC 1.3.1 should be more reliable now (though I will have to wait for customer confirmation).
This ECU is used on Rover 620D, L-Series Freelanders, P38 diesel etc.

Enabling / disabling features with the Pecktron ECUs should now work with MacOS.

I can't get PScan to pick up the port in the car. I've been using it for years so not new to how it works. I plug it in to the OBD2 port and the black box flashes. The laptop picks it up but when I go to select a port, nothing! I'm using version 043B. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the software and running it from another location. The laptop is connected to the internet. I tried it in my MG ZT, which has worked in the past but I get the same problem. The PScan box number is 000682. Thanks!

Can you try it on another laptop. Sounds like it's ports have got their knickers in a twist

It's gone for repair - the USB socket needs to be replaced.

I have my pscan on a different device. So, where do I look and how do I update it?
Do I need the device connected to the relevant PC? Or is the software update entirely in the application within the relevant PC?
To what do I connect to gain the update? Presumably this site but where and how please?

The application lives on the PC. Have you tried installing from the Pscan install page: https://pscan.uk/install/install.html

Thank you for offering to help. From the reply I presume I do not need to connect Pscan to the laptop for the update, and that the update is entirely “within” the laptop software.
i had looked on the Pscan website but could not and still can’t see exactly what I need to do.
if I update my iPad as an example (which I did yesterday) the update extracts one set of software and installs another.
What I see when following the link posted here is an icon that allows me to download the relevant software according to whether I’m using Windows or Mac etc.
What I fear is that I will end up with two files, one with the old software, and one with the new. Is that what happens, and if so do I then need to delete the old one?
Or does the download detect the existing and either overwrite it or delete it and install the new?
id really appreciate some further help on this please.

I'm just going around in circles here. If I go to the download page as if it were a new device i do not see anything relating to update. If i carry on down that page and seek support it brings me back to this page. Am I supposed to download the software for a second time? I do not see a tool bar icon for update or for checking firmware. What am I doing wrong please?

In order to update pscan to latest version the only thing you need to do is to have PC connected to internet and start the program pscanloader.exe on your PC. It will update pscan to latest version.

Do have in mind that latest version is 043C which requires update of interface box firmware. So you need to have black interface box of pscan connected to PC but it does not need to be connected to the car. When you start update just let it go all the way by itself in order to update firmware on your interface box and to update pscan software to latest version.

Thank you, I’ll give that a try. I don’t have pscan on this iPad. So I’ll check for the .exe file tomorrow.

For many this technology will be simple stuff. Unfortunately for me it is testing my limits. Hopefully you will see two images attached, one showing ref to the pscan exe. and the other to the fault codes.
First can someone please confirm that I have the latest update (I think I have based on a ref to version C showing). Whether it was Rev B or C before I attempted an update i can't say. Is there a simple way of establishing which version I have in my second machine without going through downloading an exe file to that second machine?

Now the second question. Please see the attached image showing error codes. Does that display mean that those aspects or features have errors, did have errors, or that it checks for those errors, or something entirely different?
Anything you can add will help me to better understand what i can or should be able to do.

Your current version is 043C as shown in the upper left corner of second picture. That is latest version.

List on second picture is presenting error codes stored within your engine ECU. You can try to erase them and see which ones will come back when you start the engine after erasing the codes. The ones which come back are present errors stored in your engine ECU and needs investigating.
