I have bought an under bonnet light for my 04 tf. It looks to me that it never had one fitted, although the swicth is in place. I can find no obvious
place to take the +ve feed. from. Any ideas?

I'm curious about this too. My 04 TF has no under bonnet light. There is a switch close to the RHS bonnet hinge but, if it doesn't operate a light, I don't know what it does!

That's the one, which earths to operate the light. BUT WHERE's the Live ???

i think that switch is for the alarm. if it is you'd need to feed a new live into the bonnet & take the earth from the switch.

A nice simple mod and to get your car back to where the TF should have been before project Drive. I like it and its also a job to do on my list also.
Will pick a new light up next time I am at a dealers.....

I replaced the under bonnet light on my pre project drive F with an interior light from a R100, they are the same shape but with a built in switch.

Home to black Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 Q4 ,green MGF VVC and red MG Maestro T16.

Mmmmmmm…......…Opened mouth before putting brain in gear. There IS a live to this switch so presumably it is the alarm after all. But where then is the bonnet light switch. It seems that there isn't one. Perhaps I won't bother any more, just keep new light as a spare for the boot.

The alarm uses the door,boot and bonnet light switches to tell whether the door, boot or alarm is open or closed.

Lost count how many of these I raided from the scrappy from 100's and LDV Mini Busses, it was a popular
mod on the 200/25/ZR boot light, fitted one on every one I have seen, I had them on the bonnet of boot of my
old F too with a 21w bulb, saves the the battery draining too if your faffing about. :D
