Your comments have cheered me up no end. So you may be stuck with me I'm afraid.
Maybe a little less, but here all the same.

The health issue is heavy on my mind and I'm hoping for good news following the scan midweek.
I've had blips in my blood count before, just not as epic as the recent one.

Atta boy, us "northern monkey's" are made of sterner stuff than them "southern softies", we don't fade away we just get wrinkly and grumpier.
As a "northerner, it's hard not to say as it is, and sometimes people will get upset, but that's the way we are. And sometimes we have to say we are sorry, because we can, and will offend some people. But deep down we are a warm and friendly bunch and will do "owt" to help others.

When I was an Ops Engineer at a large Northern power plant, the chosen method of attracting ones attention was to shout 'oi current!'

Note: some vowels have been added to the word after oi for decency.
