my next doors cats do the same not only that but they slide down the side of the car causing scratch marks i swear soon the will be two missing cats.
problem is i get on very well with my neighbours were always helping each other out but it is seriously damaging the car.. i will take pictures tomorrow

I normally get the trail of muddy footprints up the centre of the bonnet, followed by the pile of fur on the roof where he's slept off his epic climb up the bonnet, then he exits via the bootlid leaving more prints
options are limited as he belongs to us

My cat ELVIS does the same thing !!!
Hes a tubby little fellow and started to make the roof sag! I tried shouting at him did not work.
So I got one of thoes spray bottles one you can mist plants with, just walk over with it when you next see the cat on your soft top and spray him in the face it wont hurt him but cats dont like it he only went back on the car once after that and when he did I sprayed him hes not been back since the other option is get a hard top

My cat sleeps on mine.

It's an old Rover to be frank, I can't get that worked up about it.
