Magnette
The MG K-Type Magnette, produced from 1932 to 1934.
Launched in 1932 at the London Motor Show, the K-Type replaced the F-Type Magna but having at first a slightly smaller capacity engine it took the name Magnette. This range from K1 to KN.
The MG N-Type Magnette was produced from October 1934 to 1936.
Which ranged from NA and NE
The name was then revived for the uninspired range of saloon cars of the 1950s and 1960s. Use of the Magnette name on an MG saloon car with a lowered Wolseley body and an Austin engine brought protest from motor magazine letter writers. There were two distinct series of these Magnettes;
The ZA / ZB produced from 1953 to 1958
The Mark III / IV produced from 1959 through to 1968.
MG6 Magnette produced from 2011 to date
MG most recently revived the name again when in June 2011, they announced that the saloon version of the MG 6 would carry the Magnette name on cars for the UK and European markets.
The name Triple M derives from the three main model classifications; Midget, Magna and Magnette. Although if we refer to the size indication then Magna should be the last as it is the largest.
