when MOT is due, i dread sending her to the MOT place...

expecting to need a new exhaust/back box as my TT is at about 108Db now, and i think i have blown all the packing out of it as well as the cat, so emissions fail is likely...

seem to be losing coolant (200ml every month) and oil (about 300ml every month) so possible HGF (AGAIN!)...

Russel only did it about 2 years ago (20,000 miles), and i had a new Head which was ported and polished with big cams etc. as well as cam belt / water pump...

had a weird issue this morning when i put my foot down joining A3 (trying to avoid a lorry), was doing about 40, booted it (in auto mode) so about 4000rpm, and water went from about 85C down to about 50C then slowly back up... guess it was the bypass opening but never good for the head :(

also think i need to change my CVT fluid, anyone any ideas where to get this now days? (i know its the same as the BWM Mini auto CVT's)

just hoping i dont end up with a 1k bill for the car just to pass the freaking MOT... :(

also probably need 2 new rears as my R1Rs are nearly down to the markers, luckilly have another set spare that i can just swap on...

finally need a new seal round the hood, as since i had to swap the passengers door after my wife revesed into it, the new door window glass doesnt quite reach the seal and theres a small air gap...

it never rains... :(

Oz.

and i am pessimistic as i have spent about 5k on this car in the last 2 years... lol!

oh and i forgot that i think the hydragas needs checking...

Reference the coolant issue, you might have a lazy or even a duff thermostat. Does it take quite a while for the engine to get up to temperature?

If this is the case as soon as you boot the accelerator the waterpump flashes up and you lose your heated coolant to the radiator and get cold coolant dragged from the radiator into the engine.

Im having the same with mine and am in the process of sourcing parts for a retro fit PRT. If nothing it should cut down the amount of time it takes to actually get to the thermostat!

I think MOT time is worse than being an expectant father pacing up and down waiting for the birth of his child - at least when the time comes you get a pat on the back and a big cuban cigar!

I remember once hearing the story of a young boy who played for a rubbish football team that were always loosing. His mother washed his kit and gave it to him just as he was leaving for another match.....'Don't know why I bother..' he said ' we always loose and we will loose again today...no point..'

In reply his mum said ' Come on..be more POSITIVE about it....be POSITIVE!!' .......

The boy thought for moment about what his mum said...then put his hands on his hips, stood firm and said...
'OK I will be POSITIVE!......WE WILL DEFINITELY LOOSE TODAY!!'

Sorry for lowering the tone!!

that people didn't like me anyway!
