Hello
My name is Brian. I’m from South Australia. Got a new knee three months ago then started looking for an MGB. Came across F’s during the search and had never heard much about them before. Hobbled into a Dodgy Bro’s. used car yard populated with Southern Mediterranean salesmen types complete with numerous heavy gold chains and enormous rings on most fingers (wearing purpose built knuckledusters is illegal over here).
Anyway the inducement to enter this world was an internet ad for a very cheap F (by our standards)

The F sat in a corner at the back of the yard with a flat battery and a sad unwashed look surrounded by a bevy of rust buckets all high mileage low warranty ‘bargains’.

Sanity prevailed and I bought the car after a short haggle.

The lumpy thump ride on test drive vanished after ten minutes on the freeway where the tyres warmed up and returned to being round once again. She had sat in the yard a long time!

A 5000 km trip to New South Wales north coast two weeks later to see my ageing aunt led to the discovery of a fantastic 60km downhill S bend thriller that really let the steppie shine.

I have never had sooooo much fun driving a car. Absolutely now in love and loving it.

They are underpowered compared to a VVT BUT you have seven speeds and you can drop down mid corner without loosing traction.

A great assistance for a novice driver like me

Hope you're (and all our other Australian members) safe down there in Oz. It's truly terrible to see the news reports of the bush fires.
