I owned a 1998 MGF 1.8 VVC for approx 5 years back in the early 2000s
Last summer I was thinking of getting a cheap(ish) convertible as a 2nd car and saw an advert for a low mileage, 54-plate TF 135 in yellow at a reasonable price only a couple of miles away. Needless to say I bought it immediately on viewing it and had a cracking few months with it before garaging it in December
The battery died and after re-charging it I found the car was immobilised. Various internet searches were made on how to restart the car which led me to this, and other MG forums.
With some random thrashing I’ve managed to get one of the key fobs to re-sync and I can now start the car.
