Hello All

'We' (missus - but she doesn't do forums) has gone and added to the collection! I owe the forum thanks for the buyers guide, so - "Thank you" . Unfortunately, this was somewhat overlooked when she found a pretty coloured one

We are now happy owners of an early TF160 in Spectre. She's not perfect, has noisier VVC mechanisms than either of our other VVC cars and, in 48 hours of ownership, found that this little sportscar is the go-to vehicle of choice (we've got too many to choose from). So far, it's been driven with the roof up only once (we'll see how that novelty wears off as the weather deteriorates ) . . . . . and here comes the rain.

I continue to have a problem with getting rid of MGR era vehicles. I have one 200 BRM in good order, another in need of a lot of TLC, a ZS180 with cambelts waiting for me to do something with them and a '94 414SLi that has loyally served me, my wife, my brother, my son and eldest daughter which is now beyond any kind of economical repair, but just can't bring myself to dispose of! (told you I had a problem ) and now added a soft-top. Mid-life crisis confirmed

I'm sure I'll be at the receiving end of forum wisdom for a while, but hope to be able to give a bit back in the fulness of time if, as I suspect, the novelty of the little TF will not wear off.

The BRM is a lovely little thing. The LSD PG1 box and oddball gearing makes a difference.

The TF shows its two prominent colours - the pinky purple and the blue. We were not aware of the bronzy-gold it flips to in certain lights and haven't caught it on camera yet.

You can pick one up for a lot less nowadays

I had a vi for four years and loved it,so good I bought a couple of gti's that I had for another five years or so.

I think the BRM would have been perfect for me but alas I bought a ZT
