I don't see anything like £1000 of work there. New tyre, replacement gearbox mount, new discs and pads, new bushes for the rear dampers, replacement front dampers.
£250 maybe.

as said by david not that amount of work listed, the water from the cylinder head is a bit vague that could be from the manifold or could be from water pump, can I ask how much you paid for the car , was it a private seller of garage ? how long was left on the MOT ? Im just thinking about going back to the seller reference the issues as the overheating was 20 mins down the road, how far and long did you test drive it for

Freestyle and TF for Sale Mk1 work in progress, well it never stops does it lol

Lady MGF, before you do anything please get the car looked at by someone who has a clue as to what a MGF actually is.
Most motor mechanics wouldn't know if a MGF was up their fundamental orifice until the passengers opened the doors to get out!
:omg:
Now possibly some kind and knowledgeable member of the this forum may be able to pay you a visit to assess the trouble. (I suggest a bottle of scotch or some such might be a good bribe  ) or possibly someone here can recommend a mobile MGF specialist in your area who could help you. It would be money well spent.

Tis a pity your not here in Melbourne Oz, otherwise I'd check it out for you.
I can always use another bottle of scotch!
:yesnod:
