Hopefully the new boot will be a goer, but that is a while off yet as I need to get the bonnets sorted first.

Some latest pics as he has been playing with carbon fibre.

Not sure whether I should post these in here as they are pure bonnet porn. ;)

In the words of the man....

"In the main I'm really pleased how it's come up. There are some minor blemishes that are inevitable due to the process. I'm convinced that these. Would be the worse case. Perhaps you could ask paul to pop over Sunday to have a look at what he thinks too.
I have tried to show the minor blemish through the centre of the pic."

Now I can only see minor imperfections, but he says this is the worst case and it would really nead to be checked out in real life.

So, what do you guys think?

Clive

Just make sure the resin used has the ability to protect against UV. I used to sail Carbon fibre and glass fibre hulled boats with no opaque gel coat and the UV can make the Carbon and Glass break down over time and loose strength, then rather than nice and stiff they become flexible and the finish degenerates. If the guys who laid this up intended a unpainted finish then you should be OK, otherwise you could have a problem in time without a UV resistant paint finish.
