pscan can now access the 27VT CCU on Freelander 1.

Customers need to be aware that some changes were made in year 2000, so there is a "protocol" for 1997 to 1999 and a different one for 2000 on.

From 97 to 99 the 27VT was also an immobiliser, and had an EKA override code so that you can drive the car if a remote fob battery dies.
From 2000 onwards the immobiliser moved to a seperate EWS immobiliser (like the Rover 75) and the EKA functionality was removed.
Some of the live date parameters are also different before and after.

pscan will code in remote key fobs for before 2000 and after 2000 but be aware that on a 2000 onwards Freelander that the fob will only unlock the doors and turn off the alarm. It will not start the engine. We do not have support for the EWS immobiliser yet.

I just noticed that one of the buttons is called "Immobiliser fob programming" but actually this is incorrect (at least for year 2000 on). It should be called "Alarm fob programming" or something like that as the immobiliser (from year 2000) is actually a completely different ECU.

I will fix that in the next release.

I'm trying to use this to program a new fob on my 2005 Freelander 1

I can access the 27vt CCU, but the horn test doesn't sound the horn, although I can hear a relay going

On the actuators page the horn sounds when I click it

Is it safe to proceed or do I have a problem I need to fix first?

Apologies for the slow response. I had to dig a bit.

When you click the horn test button it uses the same method in software as sounding the horn in the actuators page, but it just flicks it on for a fifth of a second and then off again.

Maybe this is too fast.

Anyway as it's working in actuators I think it's safe.

I need to increase the timer a bit to make it more reliable.
