Gear Linkage - what's going on here please? 2 years 10 months ago #196128

I've had a TF 135 about a week now and had the first chance, while getting new tyres and alignment done, to have a good look underneath. All was good in general but there was an area that didn't quite look right on the gear linkage - engine end. As shown in the attached photo there is a fluid on this area, and obvious wear on the seal (circled). Can anyone tell me what's going on here, and the impact it (if any) will be having on the gear changing etc. If an issue, what's the fix please. I'm a newbie to the TF, but happy to get hands dirty on maintenance jobs etc. Thanks in anticipation.

This is not a usual problem area, leak wise.
I would first clean up the area to check that it is an actual leak,  rather than someone spraying the Bell crank with lubricant for some reason.
If it is that seal it shouldn't be too difficult to replace.

I too would clean it up first to see what is going on.

Yeah it looks like some helpful person sprayed it with a sticky lube like chain lube in the hope that it might offer some benifit
