Checked most things, now looking at someone who might have a diagnostic machine near Great Yarmouth for an old MGF VVC 1997

No worries mate, but do you possess a diagnostic gadget that works with thus age of MGF? If so can you tell me what make it is?

Yes I do and it's the Pscan that I purchased via this forum 4 years ago . As members on here will testify it is a great piece of kit and is still being developed.

No . If you Google Pscan UK you will come to the site where you can purchase them . Alternatively you could send Phillip a message on here as the latest version update has been put on the forum today . He will reply fairly quickly if it's about buying one . I use it in conjunction with a laptop and has been very useful. The one I have shown says Pscan EU but it's now Pscan UK .

Don't get me wrong there are loads of cheap and cheerful diagnostic tools out there but I think it's safe to say that most on here will use Pscan as if there are any problems Phillip ( i think it's Phillip ) is usually around to help out with queries. He's a very knowledgeable guy and he has developed Pscan .
Hope this helps . Oh and the reason I bought one was I also own a classic Mini ( 2000 model ) and it sorts that out as well .

For a 97 MGF, you need either the factory T4 unit or the Pscan, the typical OBD2 units you find on ebay etc, wont work on your car as it isn't OBD2 compliant.

Good luck finding a T4, so the Pscan is your best bet.

The help forum is part of The T Bar and is run by the developer of pscan.

There is a diagnostic system on the Pscan for the SRS system.

The only alternative is a T4 diagnostic system developed by MG/Rover, a local independent Land Rover may have one but it'll be almost as cheap to buy the pscan.
