Is that a garage or a library?
It's a bit of both actually! A couple of years ago we bought a new townhouse with the garage downstairs.
I have never had a garage before but lost my den as the living space is a bit smaller so all of my books, my old stereo
with turntable and all my military collectibles (remains of a previous hobby) had to go in the garage.
The best investments I made in the garage were an epoxy coating on the floor and LED lighting and it turned out to be a marvellous place
to work on the cars. One other thing that I did was to weatherstrip the door which keeps it so cozy that all I need is a small ceramic heater
to make it usable. All of those years of working in a windblown dirty carport are gone!
There is enough room for my MGF and the Freelander in the garage but the daily drivers have to live in the street. Luckily my wife found the doorway too tight for her SUV.
Here's a pic facing the other way with a good view of the epoxy floor. It's a real treat to be able to slide under the car without coming out covered in filth!
And here's my old windy work area. (Only 100 yards from the ocean so we got a lot of weather)
