4 error codes
P0481 J1979:Cooling Fan 2 Control Circuit Malfunction
P0118 Coolant temperature sensor, signal too high
P0655 J1979:Engine Hot Lamp Output Control Circuit Malfucntion
P1487 J1979:EGRCHK Solenoid Circuit Malfunction

I cleared them and did some live data tests and then checked again and got the following back:
P0481 J1979:Cooling Fan 2 Control Circuit Malfunction
P0655 J1979:Engine Hot Lamp Output Control Circuit Malfucntion

Any idea if they're bad or somethign to do with Felix's 'hunting'?

Also the live data was as follows:

Is it all normal?

Temps are all too high, unless you've been thrashing the backside of it. Ambient air temp is way out, probably 100 too high.
Tickover is too low, aim for 850. Could explain your hunting especially as it appears to be running lean also. That could be to do with the high temp readings.

O2 sensor 1 voltage doesn't look right either. :nonod:

He does smell like he's about to explode after every run!
He was just ticking over on those readings.. Say for 15 minutes.
So.... I'll up the tickover a tad (although it does seem to change on its own) also probably I should change the engine bay temperature sensor? Is that the one reading way too high?

Oh I forgot to copy the reading when I did obd2 test as the o2 sensor number 1 was wowng all over the place on that.

The coolant temp is reading high too. The lambda sensors output should be a sine wave, that's why I asked about the unit graphing live data.
The normal static reading should be around 1.0.

Your ambient air temp is the same as what I get with a MEMS3 hooked up on the bench with no sensors attached.

The other thing is that I discovered that a MEMS3 might have two different ways of reading this parameter. Let me look into it before you condemn anything.

Sorry to post the question here Peter but Rovertech seems to be down. Is there a chance the software would run on Windows RT tablets? Like the Surface RT? I understand it has to go via the Windows Store but not sure how that works as MS only allow software form the store to install on the RT tablets. But if it did then couple your hardware with a cheap RT tablet and you have a very portable and useful system!

No. Windows RT is for an ARM processor and my development language doesn't support it. To be honest RT is pretty much dead now anyway.

You can buy Intel tablets pretty cheaply now. I think (though haven't tried it) that it should work on one of these:-

I might have a go at Android because my environment does in theory support Android and there are way more Android devices around than RT, and they are cheaper. I'm not promising anything though because it's a massive amount of work.

I checked the other method on my ECU with no sensors, it gives exactly the same result. I suspect that either you have a dead ambient air temp sensor / wiring fault, or, they aren't even fitted on your model.
