Well looks like the fitting of the VHS dampers will be on hold for a bit...

Checked the coolant today and I seem to be about 8mm down on normal.

Noticed a very slight drop a few days ago but after a few long haul trips its dropped again. Looks like it will be off with the cover tonight to have a look.

The car had its HG replaced at somepoint in its life prior to my buying it and it has SS coolant pipes fitted.

I guess ill top it up and keep an eye on it for the next few weeks.. temperature gauge remains the same as ever and I run an OBD2 reader which displays intake and coolant temperatures so I have a constant monitor of this.

Thankfully ive spotted this now and hopefully its a leaky pipe somewhere (im gonna guess the SS pipes as they were fitted about 3000miles ago according to the paperwork and I have driven a lot since buying the car so hopefully something there has came loose.

Failing finding that I guess Ill do an oil change to inspect the oil.. Ive some nice Semi Synthetic Millers XFD 10W40 DERV oil so ill plop that it give the insides a bit of a clean anyway for a couple of months.

I was hoping my missing coolant was a leaking pipe. Unfortunately it was HGF on the exhaust side of the engine. I didn't see dripping coolant because it was being evaporated by the exhaust heat. I did finally find coolant in the oil as well.
