You could well be right John. But I've not finished 'reviewing' it yet. :) If they turn out that way, I'll be sure to let the forum know and it'll be back to the drawing board. :slapme:

Just looked at the ballast, 20,000V. :omg:

I have to have special certification to work on 1,500V, and I'm a Leccy. :pinch:

Hope your second set was made by the 10 year olds. ;)

Glare is worst from MGFs using HID conversions Mandymay.

... HT systems are about 22kV! All volts and no poke however.

Been there, done that. (I suppose that a few of us here have).

I'm neither a leccy nor a mechanic. In fact a year ago I was hard pressed to find the dipstick. :) But these lights took me all of 3 minutes to fit so it's an easy enough job. I did try and be as safe as possible by letting the wife turn them on the first time. I'm much better at first aid than she is.

Arguments aside.. HID's and Xenons, call them what you will, are definately the future fittings in our new cars. I saw a few blinding merc lights on the way up to the lakes run and that was in broad daylight. These 4300k lights didn't seem so bad. But I've yet to test them at night. Soon though. Either way, I'll keep it informative and real enough and the 30 quid, well I can afford to put that down to experience. But it'll feed a family somewhere in Shanghai for a month. :broon:

I'd say they're at least two to three times better than the originals. They're 4300k and have a slight yellow tint to them, which makes them look almost like the original lights (many brand new cars use 4300k). I've read that they become 'whiter' after approx 100 hours of use. So, I'll be back to let you know (if they last that long) ;)

They look dazzling at night, but the video was shot from the perspective of someone standing, not from the eyeline of a fellow TF driver.
