Its not a Metro its an MGF. It was a test mule to try out MGF running gear.

Further to my answer to the quiz picture. I was a contractor for Rover at Gaydon in the late 90s. By then the MGF was in full production.so I never saw any MGF Metros.

I worked as a Technical Administrator for part of the Rover 75 development team.

At that time I remarked to my boss that I'd never seen so many Rover 800 coupes as were running around Gaydon. I was advised that only the bodies were Rover 800 coupe the underpinnings and mechanicals were Rover 75 prototypes.

Well, technically it's not an MGF either, but yes, test mule for the F project :) Your question.

Here is the next question. Sorry for the delay in setting the question but several lines of research proved unsuccessful.

1. What is the Priests of Chesham Trophy.?

2. Who was awarded it in 2011?

From the MGF Register pages:

Priests of Chesham Trophy
Award for significant contribution to the MGF Register
(A crystal glass bowl mounted on a wooden plinth showing the recipients names on brass plaques).
This trophy is awarded to the person (or persons) who has made a significant contribution to the MGF Register over the preceding year.

This can be won by any person including Committee, Regional Reps or other volunteers and ordinary members.

2011 Keith Williams

For consistent good work organising events, attending race meets, organising regalia at shows, running the online shop and arranging the new online clothing store.

Keith was up at Cholmondeley Pageant of Power this weekend and is a great ambassador for the register.

I was not sure whether to set this question. I had a meal with Keith last Wednesday at the MGF Register Midland pub meet. Softly Softly was there as well.

Name a Welsh car maker that used a BMC engine, and state which engine it used.

Before going the Ford V6 route with the Genie and Invader Gilbern built and sold the Gilbern GT with the MGA and later the MGB versions of the BMC B Series engine.

Cecil Kimber's Old Number One was MG's first sports car. But how many bodies had earlier been built for Morris Garages and by which company?

As you correctly point out, Old Number One was not the first MG.

The body for Old Number One was built by Carbodies in West Orchard, Coventry, who had supplied Morris Garages with 47 other bodies before this. Carbodies continued to supply MG and in 1928 moved to new premises at the Holyhead Road site.
