I did think it was too obvious, don't know the reg/year correlation myself
Rear is about 2-3" to high, at a guess, unless it's running on 13" wheels which is pretty unlikely given I don't think they don't fit over the handbrake lever. Have seen one or two other very alte chrome bumper cars that sit about that high, and wondered if they ended up with rubber bumper rear springs before. Grille and overriders are 73-74 spec. Just looked up reg think, and yes M is definitely last of the chrome bumper cars.
I didn't say V8 cos that's not very unusual in an MGB...
Unless it's a Costello, but they all had bonnet bulges.
