Abingdon????

the car above was built there and "old speckled hen" was brewed there............... or

MGCC

Theres a photo of that car hanging on the wall at Kimber House and theres a crate load of old speckled hen stored there for MG Live

Old Speckled Hen was a bit too obvious ;) Not MGCC either, although I have seen that crate of OSH and am wondering how long it will last at MG Live....

The car pictured is the record-breaking MG EX127 'Magic Midget' driven by George Eyston.

The MG link with the beer is

the 'Magic Midget' pub now renamed 'The Midget' which is associated with MG as it is on the estate where many of the former MG workers lived.

There are many MG Plaques and Display cases on the walls;

The Midget, Midget Close, Preston Road, Abingdon, Berkshire OX14 5NR won 'Pub Of The Year' in 2010.

Re: MG T-Bar Quiz 11 years 10 months ago #53971

I'm guessing the Acroplis is a reference to the Historic Acropolis Rally which was revived around a decade ago ....

..... If I'm right, then I'd hazard a guess that an MG won one of the classes, .... but I couldn't tell you which year, which class, or even which car without cheating. :lol: :slapme: :lol:

Re: MG T-Bar Quiz 11 years 10 months ago #53972

... hang on, the Olympics were held in Greece in 2004 .... so I'll take a pop at an MG winning the regular class in that year ...... and it was probably an MGB .....or maybe a Midget .... ermmm I think .... :lol:

The torches were made in China? Or the torches aren't waterproof, either?

Ah, the Hardtop Relay. A bit slow on that one, and I'd even read the article in SF.
