Sir Albert Ball JP (1863–1946) was Lord Mayor of Nottingham and in 1914 he retired as a director of the Austin Motor Company.

He was the father of the famous Great War air ace Captain Albert Ball who helped with the design the Austin-Ball A.F.B.1. Albert Ball requested that one gun angled upwards with the other firing through the propeller. Unfortunately Albert was killed 2 months before the prototype took to the air.

Time for football training now, so just in case the above was the correct answer, here is a new question to keep things moving.

The MG SV supercar like many other low volume cars used parts from the parts bin.

From which car did the MG SV get it's;

1) Door mirrors
2) front lights
3) Rear lights

4) Which part of the MGF can be found on the MG SV

5) Not all the parts were from other cars, that rear wing above was an optional extra. How much did it cost when the car was released.

Go on I'll give it to you :P

The door mirrors were Rover 75 mirrors with a new base and the MGF exterior handles were used with a slight modification.

As a matter of interest the interior handles were also modified Rover 75 ones as were most of the electrics.

What is the link between this car and MG? There are 2 possible answers. I'm after one and I'm not going to say which ;-).

The 75 was initially launched with a lower profile tear-drop mirror, which followed onto the ZT but in 2002 around June new 75s and ZTs started getting the standard 25/45 (ZR/ZS) profile mirror as part of the cost cutting. The glovebox lid was also sourced from the 75/ZT.

European style with American muscle.

First things first, the car pictured above is the De Tomaso GT5, produced in Modena, Italy. When Bruce Qvale took over De Tomaso they produced one of its 'offsprings' the Biguà —renamed the Mangusta there. The Mangusta was used as the base for the MG SV of my previous question after MG-Rover purchased Qvale in 2003. The MG SV was also largely produced in Modena with the finishing done in the UK. The Ford V8 used has also powered many a MG so could be another possible link.

Kjell Qvale (father of Bruce Qvale) was I believe the first distributors of MG on the Pacific West Coast. Based near San Francisco he began trading in MG cars after falling in love with a MG TC.

Just getting back to the De Tomaso GT5, released in 1980, there is another possible link, this time going back a few years. In 1975 the Innocenti company passed to Alejandro de Tomaso and was reorganised by the De Tomaso Group under the name Nuova Innocenti.

Innocenti had produced the IM3 / IM3S/ I4/ I5 based on the ADO16 of MG 1100 fame

So I believe there are at least seven possible MG links and as you are not going to be specific Chris, please take your pick from any of those in bold above.
