While jacking up the rear of the car to tighten the alternator belt I discovered a new feature. It's a feature that I used to have on my Citroen ZX, it's called passive rear wheel steering.

Do you think this is right? Might explain why I've had a bit of wandering on straight roads.

We have a press at work, so some new bearings me thinks.

I have tightened the hub nuts. Got 1/8th of a turn and it is a lot better now.

If it needed that much of a turn then it may have spun in the hub and damaged it - happens a lot with Metros. Might be best with a new hub and bearings if not sure as if it is scored the bearing will never be as tight as it should be.

Madmax had the same problem on his TF, the "big nut" was loose, the bearings had turned in the hub, new drive flange, bearings set and big nut tightened to 150lbs/ft torque sorted it (Russell Walsh did the fitting) The cause was due to the nut not being spiked into the locking groove properley!!!

Mine was properly secured, just wear methinks.

The car behaved very well today.
