Mine has been less than perfect, I was taking in a mates F earlier in the week, when a lady in a four wheel drive decided that lanes, and red lights be damned, she was going through the intersection regardless. Unfortunately I I happened to be in the intersection at the time. No one was injured but the poor F is less than perfect.

Gotta love them 4x4's.....

So long as you are both ok.
As long as nothing is twisted beneath, should be repairable?
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Its in at the Bodyworks, just waiting for a quote on the repair so we can find out if the insurance company is going to write it of or not.

Write off pal. Sorry. Probably a Cat D but still going to be determined as an insurance loss.

Damage to my car was probably worse, bonnet, wing, bumper & headlight plus respray, but they estimated it at £3k repairs on a £2k car. Cat C. Your repairs won't be as expensive, new for old, but will be more than is economically viable for them.

Unless of course you have agreed value, in which case ignore everything I said.

In my case, we agreed a value on the car and a salvage value for me to buy it back. I found a car in same color at a local breaker & bought the parts I needed, along with a couple of tasty upgrades that were available, and made good on the job myself.

Wish you all the best with it pal.

What a
I often watch the auctions sites where the written off MGFs go and they seem to write them off for very little reason. The sad thing is once written off they can't be re registered here in NSW.
Hope it works out.

Every cloud has a silver lining
Maybe you could get hold of it after the insurance people finish, think of the spares?

Just realised that the sill is damaged also. That will almost certainly make it Cat C if not B as they may look at the sill as structural damage.

Also just realised you're in Tasmania so all this chat about categories is meaningless, you likely have a different system.

Still hope you get satisfaction though.

The car is insured for $10,000AUD, so it's down to the repair quote.

Ah Craig. :omg: That's a poor little F. I hope you get a favourable outcome from the insurance companies. :yesnod:

Oh, and the obligatory comment, "That'll polish out!" ;)

gutted for you, only a thought but if insurance does pay out, would be a good excuse for a holiday. Get a flight to the UK buy an MG, export it, register it, and i'm thinking you'd still get change from 10,000 dollars. Just realised how stupid that sounds, if it was that easy everyone would be doing it. Let us know what happens and best of luck

Craig, you're not having much luck with F's this year!

In fact you appear to be single handedly working on the extinction of MGF's in Australia :bust:

Hope this one gets fixed up and back on the road soon.

How's yours coming along? Keep us updated.

Sorry to hear about the MGF.

My week has been pretty shitty really. Painfully so................................... Face is all bruised from tooth removal after infection under it. Never been bruised like this from what should have been a simple extraction...... Oh well.
