Dials have arrived 12 years 3 months ago #39661

Mr Postman delivered these today, when back lit they will be blue to match my clock and oil guage... Not ordered anything else for the project yet and I get a feeling this is not going to be as easy as peeps make out. I need to inspire Daz :(

BUT once this is done there's not much more needed for my little car, I suppose that could be an incentive for him. I know some of you have dabbled David & Mark so any help would be great but please keep it simple for me you know Im easily confused.

I have there now but they are rubbish at night with being front lit with blue bulbs

Thanks Leigh, getting the unit out and the needle off etc is the easy bit, these arent plasma so a bit different

the confusing bit will be the LED placement to get an even spread and the illuminating needs and wiring it all up to work.

I do have a spare cluster to practice on so not gonna be exactly stuck so I wont say it'll be done over night just think we need to get everything, be in the right frame of mind and have the time

You could get the Plasma Dials Unprinted. or get some Electroluminescent Panels which you can cut down to shape to go directly behind the dials. Wouldn't have worry about LED placement then. At least that would be my plan

Here's an one http://proto-pic.co.uk/white-electroluminescent-el-panel/

Mark may be able to advise if this would work, Thinking it would also mean an easier way of passing light through to needles as well

those el panels are quite good but i dont know if the brightness will be enough but this depends on personal choice ect

might be worth a play as would be cheaper than the led version i did

here is the iluminated pointer version however the front of the dash was put on just to show effect :)

mad about cars and bikes :)
if it aint broke dont fix it :)
