Exhaust fitting 10 years 5 months ago #134544

Finally chose my exhaust! Here it is looking pretty big and pretty mean!

I think I know what I'm doing and have seen a few how to's but would love to hear any tips/tricks to changing my exhaust!

Also, I have got new rubber mounts and a new gasket. Should I use any kind of sealant?

Thanks!

Wow!..what's one of those? :-? Looks fearsome.. :omg:

1. Make sure you use catalyst friendly exhaust sealant upstream of the cat. :yesnod:
2. Be prepared to cope with rusty nuts like these... :nonod:

3. ..and don't forget to let us know how it goes..

Been after one for a while! It's the xpower thruflow spec version, it's on Rimmer bros but I would suggest you get it sooner rather than later if you want one as I've waiting months for it to come in and out of stock!

Thanks for your help! I am dreading getting these nuts off. That is exactly what mine looks like :(

It looks beyond that point actually with no head left!

I'm thinking drill them out or grind off and punch through

Remove the cat and the back box together if you can...the nuts on the flange between the cat and the downpipe? are sometimes less corroded....then you can more easily get a grinder on the nuts..separate the cat and the back box..and punch or drill the studs out and replace with stainless.....assemble using coppaslip.....easy peasy.... :yesnod:

Also refit with CAT saver nuts, will save you hours if it has to come off in the future.

:omg: That is quite a sizable tail pipe you have there!

Good luck with the fitting and a sound clip / video afterwards would be good to see.
