Hi Arron.

Welcome to the T-bar.

Whereabouts do you live?

Hastings mate, Saw someones pics were at Newhaven barracks, not to far from me!

Quick question. 160 or 135. Heard Re map on a 160 is better, also is a re map worth it, I know the engines aint great at the best of times but been told can get about 179bhp out of them post re map.

Cheers

135 is a simpler engine - easier to work on.
160 is the variable valve version.
Your choice really.
If you're after max power without major engine changes(cams etc) then a remapped 160 would give about 175-180.

My mpi has 120bhp and its more than enough tbh, don't forget it's not a heavy car.

Hi Arron, WELCOME TO THE T BAR

There are lots of good MG TFs out there for sale at good prices (very low at present) and there is a load of rubbish too.
Dont rush into buying unless you know what you are looking at, have a look at www.churchsquareautos.com they are not cheap but have some superb cars with a known history, the have too good a reputation to sell rubbish. Stirling Automotive in Eastbourne are worth having a look at too.
