hi all 5yrs now since working on these engines and just bought a mg r reg, wow ive worked at longbrige for 16yrs and always bought austin or mg rover cars but not the mg. my car is a 1997 model mostly for sat sun use im in love with it p.s dont tell the wife. i have worked on the maestro and the old a series i.e mini /metro. and all k series, from cam belt to fitting the head. lookiong forward to the spring now get the top down, had a blast in early october and now im hooked:lol:

will post some pics soon of my mgf, at the moment just fitting some rear speakers to it as it is a mk1, would like to update the console aswell to the mk2,i would gladly share my experiences i had at rover, just fire away

your nearly close tho i done a spell of fitting the head and gasget, tho this was around 96/97 as they had started using the plastic dowls on the block instead of the steel ones,
