SInce I am bothered now and again with pektron issues, I would like to have a spare one for easy swap.
Now I have seen that some clever guy invented pscan, to read an program functions in the pektron.
So I am thinking of ordering one, but a few questions for those who already are know to the pektron quality.
Is is possible to swap a pektron unit for a donor pektron unit coming from another TF?
What programming needs to be done to get it working. I guess keyfob match, but does the donor pektron need to be programmed to the ecu, and possible other units ?
Best would be to just clone the existing pektron to the donor, (plug and play) would that be possible with pscan ?
Another alternative for using pscan would be to send the unit to a UK based company for cloning, but the risk that the postal services get the package lost, is too high. And being in the Netherlands, it is quite a long drive to physically visit such a company and cloning is also probably not something you can wait for. So therefore the DIY option seems safest. I know my way around in VAG ecu's with VADIS so not new to this kind of work, but MG units are new to me.
